BREEZING THROUGH AIRPORT SECURITY: How to Avoid Hassle During Airport Security Check

Sure traveling is fun but before you reach your destination there are yields and pit stops that you have to experience especially at the airport. Going at the airport may not seem to be convenient for other travelers, long lines at the check-in counters; immigration check; passport control and, of course, the security check.

What I hate about traveling abroad is that you have to pass a lot of security inspection especially at the airports. I know I should not be complaining about this as this is a standard operating procedure and it is about my safety as a traveler, but going for more than three checks is quite annoying.

There are airports that implement a tight security, especially nowadays that terrorist attacks are everywhere. When I was at Istanbul airport I have to pass three inspections before I boarded the plane, good thing I was early otherwise there is a chance that I can miss my flight, just imagine how busy the airport there.

As a traveler, I want to make sure that I won't face any problems at the airport that may ruin my trip and cause a lot of bothers.  I made my own list on how to avoid security problems and how to pass the security checks without any hassle.

Know what is not allowed to be hand carried- liquids; explosives; deadly weapons; sharp objects. To make sure about these, please check sign boards in every check-in counters.

Avoid wearing too many accessories or jewelry. Any metal on your body has to be removed and has to be placed on trays. Removing your accessories one by one can cause delay and could be time-consuming. I suggest that place all your small things in a bag before going to the security check.

Wear shoes without laces, wear something that can be removed easily like loafers, top-siders, or if possible just wear sandals. Some airports require you to remove your shoes before passing the metal detector.

If possible, wear drawstring pants or shorts. As much as possible try to avoid wearing belts.

Avoid wearing too many clothes, blazers, jackets, coats. Even if it is winter try wearing one jacket, I'm sure it will be warmer inside the airport.

Do not bring a lot of electronic gadgets, in some airports, laptops, cameras should be removed from bags and sometimes requires you to demonstrate their functions in front of a security personnel.

In case you are on medication, bring doctor's prescription if you are bringing drugs or any health related medicines.

Place your wallets, passport, coins if any, watches, or other small things in your hand carry or small bag. Empty all your pockets before going to the security check.

Do not let this happen to you

Above all, don't look suspicious or act like one if you don't want to be escorted haha, just relax and keep in mind that everything will be fine.

Happy boarding!
