TRAVEL ESSENTIALS : Gearing up for Summer
It's
summer time once again and the best way to spend it is by going to the beach! Either
you soak yourself on the cold water; sunbath under the sun or just simply relax
under the shady palm trees feeling the cold breeze coming from the sea, you
have many options on how you are going to beat the heat.
Since
most of us are heading to the beaches to cool down, I want to know what basic
things you bring to spend your weekend getaway.
I
made my own list of “what to bring” when you want to spend your summer on the
beach.
1. A pair
of espadrilles- walking on a shoreline is quite difficult because of the sand
so better wear a pair of espadrilles to make your feet comfortable while
exploring the beach area, besides they are easy to remove once you decided to
take a dip on the water. If you are not comfortable wearing these, you have the
option of wearing your flip-flops.
2. Sun block
with SPF- to protect your skin from the harsh rays of the sun, don’t forget this
to include on your list. The higher SPF the better, it is better to protect
your skin to avoid getting too much sun burn, the heat of the sun can be cruel
during summer.
3. Sun glass
and hat- aside from your skin, you need to protect also your eyes as the rays
of the sun could hurt them
4. Swimming
trunks or board shorts- you don’t have to wear speedos or bikinis when going to
the beach, a pair of trunks is already necessary without baring too much skin (
I’m just a little bit conservative sorry hehehe)
5. Book-
if you just want to spend the day under the palm trees, why not bring your
favorite book and read while feeling the cool breeze coming from the sea
6. Ipod/mp3
player- if you are not into books but still want to spend the lazy day sitting
and watch people going around, play your favorite songs and listen to music
while drinking to your favorite drink, for me this is the best way to enjoy the
beach without dipping in to the water.
Having
all these items on your list I’m sure your day at the beach will be perfect. So
enjoy the day and beat the heat!
